Anything to help out the locals I'll agree too. How about the rest of you? Sirellus? Ermac? Cyrrin? I'm sure we can put our unique talents together we can solve this problem. In the name of...the One of course. *Drul says with a smile*

If my meager talents can provide relief from this menace then I shall do my utmost to help. And while I'm at it, figure out what your game is, Mr servant of the One. *Sirellus returns Drul's smile*

I'm in. If nothing else, this could be fun. Let's cry havok and let loose arrows at the dogs of war. *Cyrrin attempts his best mashed potato smile.* Who knows, fame and glory could await us at THE MILLHOUSE. *Chuckle* A millhouse! Thank the One. At least there won't be needles or other sharp pointy instruments of doom.

*Ermac shifts uncomfortably* That sounds great, but, uh, well... I seem to have to...misplaced my weaponry * Ermac whispers the next part in shame * along with everything else I owned. *Looking back up at the others with frown he continues * Hard times you know. I dont' suppose I could get a dagger or footman's flail from someone. Other than that, I am fairly set to go and start earning my way back up from the bottom.

I'm sure we can procure one from you at the local smithy. We'll have some supplies to buy before then anyway. Mr. Mayor, is there any other information you can give us? Perhaps a map of some sorts?

“Wonderful Gentlemen, wonderful. As a matter of fact I do have some more information for you, but first we have to get this charter squared away. In order for me to pay you, legally anyway (he grins), we are going to have to get you registered as an official Mercenary group with the Empire. I just need you all to fill out these forms here…” at which he stands up and places the papers he has been holding on the parlor table. “It’s a simple form really you can just write your company name and the founding date here and here (and he points to 2 areas on the parchment) and list the applicable members here and I can take care of the rest see. Of course if you’d rather wait you can fill this out when you return. Thing is this little charter will allow me to write off your expenses and allow me to grant you papers for free travel and the permission to bear arms and various other statutes. As a chartered mercenary company for the Empire you will be free to collect any bounties in the larger cities as well.” He sets a quill down on the parchment. He then places his hands on his hips, ‘harumps’ and nods as if pleased with himself. He smiles at each of you in turn.

*Cyrrin will examine the parchment and the articles contained therein. (Civil Administration skill) If the document is legit and contains no Catch 22's or hidden clauses, he will leave the rest of the decisions of merc. name and memberships to the rest of the party.*

I think we all would prefer to wait until we get back to officially register if that is okay. As long as you don't think we will be needing official documentation between here and where we will be lessening the country's Gnoll count...? Is that okay Mr. Mayor?

"Fine with me sirs, fine with me. You shouldn't run into any problems around these parts. Usually the guard only passes through town once every fortnight. If you do encounter them though just tell them your on business for Mayor Casius. Now let me give you some directions".
He begins carefully drawing on a small square of parchment on his desk, licking his quil every several strokes. When he finishes he lightly dusts the parchment with sand and sets it on the parlor table. It shows the town of Shyesia in the upper portion and a river along the southern portion. He has marked various landmarks around the map and penned in the major road that runs through town. there is a small sketchy path that leads from the town to a small millhouse on the river to the south.
"See here's the town right here and further down here you have the River Tear. Right here you have a dirt path, it hasn't been used much except by the shepherds and people on the occasional jaunt down to the river for fishing. Just a small winding path. Should be easy enough to follow though."
"Now I'm gonna need proof you've done away with these Gnolls. Don't be bringing any body parts or corpses into my town though if you please. Might scare some folks. There leader has a large mace accoridng to the sightings. Bring that mace back to me and the other weapons the gnolls bear. I will give you 100 gold for the leader and 25 for each gnoll. You can keep what you find of course just show me the weapons as proof."
He motions for you to stand and ushers you outside.
"Now if you need anything in town just tell the tradesmen you are on official duty of the mayor and they might cut you some slack."
"Oh and take some bread", he hands you each a loave. "Best bread this side of the tear they say" and grins to himself. "If you need me I'll be in my bakery down the way by the old church."

So long as this isn't going to be a several day hike, all I need is a weapon and a wineskin. Othewise, I'll need a bit more than this loaf of bread.

Hmmm...perhaps some rope, maybe some sort of missile weapons. Even if those on our group are not familiar with their use, the ability to engage the enemy at a distance will be most advantageous should the opportunity arise. *Sirellus pauses thoughtfully for a moment while placing the loaf of bread in his backpack.* Other than that I am well prepared for such a journey.

It might be a good idea to stock up on equipment other than weapons. We may find other denizens that may be hostile. *Needles hides the loaf on his person.*

You will be able to find most common items available in the town at list cost. Send me a list of what you are looking for and I will let you know if anything is currently unavailable.
