The Red River Raiders hosted a regional at the Reaper Asylum in Denton in March 2005 in which we had excellent attendance-many members of our chapter showed and we had great SE Texas chapter attendance.
Exact Red River Raiders plans for the 2006 convention season await our chapter meeting on October 15th, but one thing everyone liked and that works well with the SE Texas chapter is that convention in Denton.
So, we'd like to hear from the SE Texas chapter about when in March (spring breaks are good times for our membership to do a tourney and they fall in March) is good to meet up at the Reaper Asylum and roll some HackMaster dice again.
This could be a multi-chapter event and challenge Origins and Gencon for attendance if done right.
Suggestions for adventure types and tournament level ranges are always appreciated.
The Red River Raiders can be contacted through me at baakyocalder@yahoo.com or you can find out about our activities and join our Yahoo group. The yahoo group is

Here's to continued good relations with the SE Texas chapter and to building up the Texas and Oklahoma HackMaster communities.

Glad to be here. As noted, anyone's welcome to the centexhackmaster yahoo group. We require registration-as the only folks in the chapter who are dependable can't code we have to stick with Yahoo and it's either send an e-mail to me and the others and get yourself easily added, or have every spammer on the planet try and sell us d20 and other pornography:)
Oh, and may I suggest if you have webspace to put a few useful downloads on the site like Topher's Character Creation Worksheet and Legba's Ultimate Skills and Talents Guide. We have those on centexhackmasters and while I don't know if anyone has gotten a ton of use since I put them up, I find those to be two very helpful documents.

Chello!
The only thing being that if more people show up, Reaper really isn't an option anymore. It was crowded enough as it was...

Good suggestion about the downloads, but unfortunately all I can really do is link to them - unless I start paying Proboards for their services. We have very limited space for attachments unless we get the paid service. If you have a link, however, I will post it.

So, I was thinking the SE Texas chapter could do the work of getting us a site since Joe Charles knows some folks in Denton and you guys have a better idea of how many in your chapter could show than I do. The bulk of the attendance won't be from Oklahoma unless much changes, though I'd figure we would have some presence.
The Red River Raiders could co-sponsor the event so we could have a serial item. I could get us an adventure from the ones I've written or the bank (Tomb of Eddie is level 2-4 and in review and could be a regional and I've got a 2-round Last Man Standing Adventure for levels 3-5 that would work well for a regional plus Errand of McIntosh which is 1-3 and would just need to throw in a serial item for the regional). I'd be willing to serve as head GM and a table GM if needed (I've GMed a ton so if anyone needs experience, I'd rather do the Head GM gig and let them get some experience).
Anyway, March should be flexible for most Red River Raiders members, so if there's a plan to do something in Denton, Dallas or that area so the two chapters can meet, it would be good.

Sadly, none of my contacts in Denton are gaming contacts. Also, with planning for OwlCon in February, I will have little time to plan anything for March. So... any volunteers? It does seem reasonable to me that we should organize this since most of the attendance would be ours. Anyone have the time?

It doesn't have to be March if it happens-that just seemed to fit the prior schedule and work with the SE Texas chapter schedule.
I'm not sure if anyone in the Red River Raiders chapter besides me really cares anymore. I might be leaving this section of the country for a while; I'll know by the end of the week whether I'll be in this part of the country or not come March. I'll let folks know if I leave or not.
I can still throw the adventure at the organizers if something is going on whether I am physically there or not.

I'm leaving Oklahoma until August so that I can get my head in order and make dissertation progress so that I can remain in the PhD program in History at OU. As I will be in my hometown of Sacramento, California, I will be unable to help with any Denton planning besides sending you an adventure or answering questions about those I wrote if you use an adventure I wrote.
Sorry for any inconvience, but the dissertation is the last level of PhD work and I'm close enough to see the prize but down so many hit points that I have to regroup and play a flawless campaign of dissertation writing to garner the prize. So, I can't be involved in the HMA for a while.
In August, I'll be back in Norman and might be interested in some minimal involvement in the HMA. Until then, Jennifer Coker and Christopher T. Box are the contact persons for the Red River Raiders chapter.
It has been good meeting you folks and I wish you well. May all your hits be crits!

So is anyone going to set this up or is it a wash this year?
I know we have one tournament being planned for around Memorial Day here in Houston and another for around Labor Day in Tyler. There is a third being planned for November I think?
This one was to be in March. I'm guessing that since we've been unable to contact the RRR that it's simply not going to happen this year.
Anyone?

I can call Reaper again if we're intrested, and im sure they would be fine with us having it there, only problem is it was tough to get a hold of the manager guy last time so it may take a few tries, but we will need to settle on a date and such, I'm ok to GM or whatever, tho we would most likely need to use a module form the bank for this. Either way is fine by me if theres intrest we can get it together if not we can just wait the place is not bad for a small tournament and we got a tour of the reaper plant and a free mini last time. for the reaper guys its nice for them cause they make a bunch of sales that day.

Thanks Ramsey. Let's hold off until we see if we have any interest. And I agree that we'd have to use an adventure from the bank.
Would anyone go if we hold this? Please post if you are interested.
