Do you like to crush puny humanoids with your ripling biceps? do you enjoy beating on small fury animals? Does the concept of soap or civility excape you? Would you rather chop someones face than discuss something politely?
Really though the dudes in my game need a fighter type to back them up. Who will answer their call?

That is of course the best way to find a capable warrior. The harder they pass out, the harder they fight.

Sure, I can play a sword-monkey. Boog, do you want me to know what kind of characters the other guys are playing (other than "not fighters"), or should I make this character in the dark?

magic user, magic user/cleric, cleric, thief who's not a thief. Also you are going to need to be able to post daily for the most part.

What about alignment? Any that I should stay away from to avoid intra-party conflict? Any I should go for to encourage intra-party conflict?

I think we want to avoid intra party conflict, so avoid evil. And Chaotic Neutral is probably a bad choice as well (of course I don't know if someone already in the party is CN, I just know I'm not.)

All right, I'm going to roll up my caracter here, with the dice roller widget, at least for his ability scores. That way, if I happen to get insane luck, it doesn't look like I'm cheating. Plus it's just a cool widget.
Here goes:
STR [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=100]
DEX [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=100]
CON [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=100]
INT [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=100]
WIS [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=100]
CHA [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=100]
COM [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=100]
[rand=796207017897559511567799785446825171883229786479635889162931455587]

Well, I say God damn! It's a good thing I rolled those on-line; no one would have believed me otherwise.
Here are the totals: STR 15/21 DEX 7/19 CON 16/76 INT 14/52 WIS 8/68 CHA 16/98 COM 14/45

Nice frickin' rolls! I second the gawd damn! that is a sword monkey if I ever saw one. I would caution some thought on Holy Knights or Paladins though with the current governmental scheme of things. Remember we are in a land where all worship of any gawd except the One gawd (who is Lawful Evil) is outlawed. Not saying you couldn't play a Holy Knight but it will give you some role playing challenges. Just as long as you are prepared for it....

No crap. I would have loved to have those stats. Of course, then I wouldn't be a cleric....

I would caution some thought on Holy Knights or Paladins though with the current governmental scheme of things. Yes, I am also worried about that. I sent a PM to Boogaloo asking him a couple of questions about holy knight feasibility, so we'll see what he says. I'd like to get Q&F's clarified. The max is 5 flaws total, not 5 rolls on the tables, right? Also, I want to make sure I understand the Midnight Hackers method of spending BP to reroll, because I think we do it differently. As I understand it, y'all do rerolls on a per-table basis, as opposed to a per-flaw basis. Meaning that if my roll on 6A indicates table 6E, I need to spend a BP and re-roll immediately, or I'm stuck rolling on 6E, but that if I come up with Psychotic Aversion to Class, I can keep rerolling on the sub-chart until I get Dark Knight. Yes?

You statement is correct as far as the Harbingers go. You have to spend a BP otherwise you are stuck on 6E.
