*Ermac hops up onto the ferry and draws his daggers* Sounds like a plan to me, let's shove off, maybe we can catch them while their still wet and laughing at greenie, or better yet, still in mid river.

The Ferry begins to drift out into the river and slowly float downstream, away from the mill.
Alright I'm going to assume one of you unties the rope. All of you should be intelligent enough to know how a ferry of this type works to some extent. There is a long pole set into wooden fittings on the side of the craft that is easily removed. I will let you decide who is going to pole the craft upstream.
The ferry is fairly stable feeling for having 4 people standing on it. it is 15x15 feet and there are small pegs on each corner and a larger center 'mast' in the middle, presumably for tying up livestock while crossing.

*Ermac re-sheathes his daggers and scrambles for the pole. He grabs the pole and pushes it down into the water, seeking some soil to connect with to push the ferry back upstream to the mill.* Whoops, I knew I forgot a minor detail somewhere.

With Sirrellis' assistance Ermac is able to Pole the ferry along beneath the shadow of the trees. The large creature on the opposite bank lets out a final roar and disapears back into the woods. The Gnolls laughter suddenly stops when the ferry runs aground on the small island. The air is still except for the call of frogs.
There is about 10 ft of ground from the water to the mill. The Mill itself is a roundish building, the waterwheel is on the other side. You are facing a door. The entire island is about 60-70 feet wide and the bank is muddy, small patches of grass become more thick as the bank slopes upward slightly.

Did the Gnolls already enter the millhouse or are they on the other side of the building?

A reverberating howl cracks the relative silence and you hear the sound of blades being drawn.
Around the bend of the bank the two gnolls you saw earlier run towards you. You can see they are wearing Leather armor and wielding Broadswords. A loud *clock* peals from above and you barely have time to see a feathered shaft disapear into the bank beside you.
Now I can allow you to roll your own init and combat rolls or you can let me do it.
