*El steps in and closes the door, then, hardly pausing, says:* I know you're not a cleric of "the One." (The quotation marks are audible. Trust me.) I saw the symbol you were brandishing against those undead gnomes. That was an icon of Relivik. Don't worry- your secret's safe with me. *El reaches under his shirt and draws out a winged ankh on a necklace.* I am no follower of the evil gawd of this land, either.[roll to identify the holy symbol] Religion: General check (1d100=12)

*Drul pauses for a moment and contemplates how to handle this situation. He looks at El's holy symbol...* [roll to identify the holy symbol] = 5 -1 = 4 invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1450236/Tell me the Gawd please! I see. You are a paladin then. And apparently our secrets must be safe with each other. So how do you suggest we handle this with the rest of the group?

Todd will have to provide that for you, I can't find it anywhere.

[El worships Benyar, LG gawd of empire and just rulership. What's up with this Relivik guy? EB told me the name, but I'm not familiar with him/her. I'm ignorant of all the old-school D&D settings.]
*El looks relieved, then disappointed.* The others don't know about you, either? I had hoped that you all were some sort of anti-empire resistance group.

Well...we hadn't discussed anything per se. Nobody has confronted me as you have, although I'm sure others may well realize that I worship Relivik. Relivik believes in overthrowing evil unjust governments. I'm sure Benyar and Relivik would be willing to work together on this one. I'm familiar with paladins by the way, my Brother is one. His name is Bal. Bal Thazar. If you meet him, stay far away. At least for awhile. Until I can handle him myself...

*wink*Why would I want to stay away from a fellow paladin? Does he live within this empire? If he does, I'd like to meet him. It's encouraging to know that the light of goodness and justice shines somwhere in this blighted land. And what do you mean by "handle" him?

Don't misunderstand me El. He is a "paladin" of the One. My other brother is a cleric of the One. It's a family business really. To them, you are a heretic and must be put to the sword. Don't forget that.
Shall we join the others downstairs? Or was their more you wanted to discuss?

*sputter*A paladin of the one? How dare they dishonor that holy title!?! That is an insult to everything my order stands for! *sigh* But that's not a matter for right now. Yes, we should get back to the group. I think we should find out how they feel about the "one," but only after we've gotten away from town, so they can't immediately run to the authorities, if they're corrupted.

Right....tread lightly El, we don't want to lose allies right now. Let's go.
